Pet Gift Baskets

Don’t Forget Fido!

People enjoy receiving various gourmet gift baskets for holidays and special occasions, so why wouldn’t pets? They are often considered to be a part of the family, so, giving a gift of this type, seems like a fun and logical choice.

If you plan to create a dog gift basket, there are several things you can do. The first thing is to check with the dog’s owner to see if there are any types of food that the dog cannot eat. Once you know what is alright to include, you can go about buying an array of fun treats, such as meat flavored strips, dog cookies, all natural treats, treats that are shaped like people food, rawhide, bones, etc.

In addition to the treats, you can also include fun pet toys and/or pet accessories such as balls, brushes, squeaky toys, clothing, and pet dishes. In fact, if you choose to include a dish, you can create the basket right inside the dish for an extra fun touch.

If you’re making a cat gift basket, first speak with the owner about likes and dislikes, and then choose treats, toys, and accessories that the cat will enjoy. Some items to consider are catnip, collars, dishes, cat beds, climbing towers, etc.

Treats for both cats and dogs are often created during the holidays in fun shapes, such as hearts for Valentine’s Day, and trees for Christmas. They are often made with fresh ingredients that are designed to keep your pet happy and healthy. You can buy these types of pet ‘cookies’ at either specialty pet stores or pet bakeries.

Pet gift baskets can be created in an array of containers, ranging from pet food bowls, to fish bowls, to Christmas stockings. Adding items specific to the recipient, and even those that include the pet’s name can personalize the basket. Just remember to make sure the items that you include fit the needs of the recipient, and are healthy and safe. If you aren’t sure what to choose, many companies offer pre-made pet gift baskets that include items that are safe for pets to use.
